This is 32 bit. XP is old operating system and most of its releases were 32 bit.

WHEN I AM TRYING TO INSTALL THIS WINDOWS XP IT SHOWS THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE & FAIL TO LOAD:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Plug & Play detected an error most likely caused by faulty driver.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps.
Check to makes sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

I tried installing this last week on my moms dell desktop. It has xp pro sticker on it but when she bought it from someone online it had 7 installed on it and she is better with xp but during installation it asked for the 25 pin on the sticker and it did not accept hers. Tried mine on my old laptop and tower that have sticker and won’t accept it. even tried the license that came with an original disk i bought and would not accept it and it needs it to allow installation.
Am I missing something or doing something wrong process wise?

You could run XP in Virtual box or VMware machine emulators, that is what I do. The problem is, if your computer is fairly new or just newer in general, you will have a hard time finding drivers that work with the newer hardware, especially since now support for XP has ended. So, the feasible option is to just run them in an emulator.

Oh Dear. It’s not your fault. XP Doesn’t work with USB 100%. XP is old operating system. At that time, it was not developed to be compatible with usb installations.
I myself tried to make XP Bootable via USB and tried installations, sometimes it work and sometimes it gives errors. Also it is very slow during USB Installation.
I would suggest you to buy simple CD and burn over it. That will work 100%.

This doesn’t need anything on Dell Machines which came with XP. But if you are willing to install on other machine then use this one.
