hello! Fatima i have a question……i am using a macook pro and by mistake i formatted the drive(macintosh hd) which contained the Mac OS X partition and now it Always boots into windows 7 and i dont have a backup and when i used internet recovery the download finished and it showed a error and again started so i dont want to do that again…….can u tell me if download Mac OS X And burn it into a Dvd how will it be installed since the download is in .dmg and windows only supports .exe files….plz reply as soon as possible….!!!!

Please google “Tonymac” and read how to make a “hackintosh” , many other sites as well cover hackintosh – osx on windows hardware, laptop and dekstop. Insanely mac google google. Hackintosh a very big field of knowledge. writer who says try snow leopard first is correct. Easy with machine same era as version of osx. snow leopard – try core 2 duo with nvidia graphics of same or similar model as apple used at the time. Check “Apple History.com” for specs. This is to start hackintosh life . As more knowledge gained, learn how to put mountain lion on UEFI bios type of machines. Till you know enough steer clear of UEFI boot machines – they are harder to hackintosh. with tonymac method, must know where the dmg goes in mac folder to make win hardware tonymac installer . It is VERY hard to explain simply. Many methods of making hackintosh. eg google “clover” bootloader” Start off with cheap core 2 duo machine and ensure the graphics chip is a compatible nvidia. Find the best system of hackintoshing – booter, hard ware configuration, so on. example: cpu: core 2 duo Penryn or similar, nvidia Geforce 9400M, bog standard win7 type keyboard, usb 2.0. Make tonymac multibeast disc, and have a snow leopard retail disc (not a grey one). This is a start to hackintosh. OR buy a mid 2008 or later macbook (runs snow leopard to lion or mountain lion) cheap. Or use Ubuntu or similar . Unix vs windows is all it really is Ubuntu legal. Hackintosh breaches apple licence. do not sell a hackintosh. It is morally wrong. If you are fiddling with hackintosh for own use, still a breach but lots of fun. imo. Buy a cheap mac. How to boot install ISO/image/DMG from USB on Intel based Mac/iMac/MacBooks(Pro) with EFI/UEFI BIOS:
It’s notoriously hard to find this information. So hard, in fact, that you’ll find many websites say it’s impossible to boot install from a USB on Macs with EFI BIOS. It’s a pain to figure out, but once you do, it’s very easy. Just substitute Mavericks with Yosemite; I’ve done it with both in the last 2 days. They both worked perfectly, 1st try.This works to install any operating system image/iso on any Intel based iMac/Mac with U/EFI BIOS. Took me almost 4 hours over 2 days to figure it out with help from “lueyluey”. Once I knew what I’m about to tell you(about base_system.dmg), it only took me about 5 minutes, not including the wait time while it installed.
Here are the steps I followed to install Mavericks on my Intel based Macbook pro(running 10.6.8 or later) with EFI BIOS. I just did this last night without any problems. Since this DMG is the base system, there are a lot of steps
that can be skipped such as using terminal, the packages thing, etc. which i have found on other websites if you just download the dmg from here.
Below is a guide to installing Mavericks by converting the base
system.dmg into a usb drive installer. These steps also work on all
other versions of Intel based Macbooks and iMacs as long as they have
EFI BIOS and are OS-X version 10.4.5 or later(that’s the earliest
version this will work for).0-(As a precaution step zero should be to create a backup of your Mac before doing any major changes such as this upgrade)-
1-download
the mavericks ISO and follow the first 2 steps here, on this page,
under “Prepare the USB” and “Preparing the ISO image” to convert to
DMG, then stop when you get to “copy the image to the USB” and
follow the rest of these steps instead(or you can just download the
already prepared dmg install file from the link i provided above)-
2-insert a USB drive(i used 8GB) into the Mac and launch Disk Utility-
3-click on the USB drive from the left-hand menu and select the Partition tab-
4-Click the drop-down menu, selecting 1 partition-
5-for format select Mac OS Extended (Journaled)-
6-options select GUID partition then click apply-
7-with
disk utility open, choose the base system.dmg**, go up to image menu,
“scan image for restore”[if this worked for you, move on to step 8]
**(this
step can be different depending on the version of imac/macbook. As long
as you have the “base_system.dmg” selected, it works, even if you can’t
scan it. The important thing is that the “base system.dmg” shows up in
the left panel of disk utility. Some systems scan it while mounting
without notification, so you may have to tinker until you can select it.
If you can’t seem to scan it, try just opening the DMG, the “base
system DMG” is in there. Now, select it and it should show up on the
left panel under the original DMG. Ok, go up to the image menu and scan
it. If you can’t, as long as you can see “base system.dmg” there in the
left panel of disk utility, you’re done this step)-
8-In the Disk Utility window, click on the newly formatted USB Drive in the menu, then click on the Restore tab-
9-drag
the ‘BaseSystem.dmg’ over to the Source text box. For Destination, drag
and drop the partition created on the USB drive onto the textbox and
click restore/apply and when it’s done, move to next step-
10-Restart Mac and push & hold option as soon as you hear restart sound until you see the gear on gray screen-
11-Choose base system.dmg-That’s it, follow the install prompts from there 🙂
These were the steps l did and I successfully upgraded my OS with all my
