Hi everybody. I don’t know much about this,so it may be dumb but I recently had viruses removed from my PC & when I turn it on, it goes to disc check & tells me I have corrupted system files. I asked a friend & he said get a disc & reinstall vista premium but i would lose all documents etc. Is there any way to fix the corruptions without losing my stuff?

I think you’ve need to reinstall the Windows.
But before Installing the new one you can save all your important data by using the following steps…
1. (i) You can get access into your Hard Drive by using Windows XP Mini…
(preinstalled environment) After that you can Copy your Important Data
into an External Drive…
1. (ii) You can also put up your Hard Drive from your PC, and connect it with
another Operating System by using IDE/SATA to USB Converter….
And directly Copy Your Data from your Hard Drive to another External Hard
Drive….!!
2. You can Copy all your Important Data From your Desired Partition into an
External Hard Drive…
Then you should Reinstall the New Fresh Operating System…
All the Best………..!!!
i try the usb keyboard nothing also, helow madam fatima i press windows logo, caps lock and fn num lock its okay but i press any letter nothings happen why? then i open on-screen keyboard and i press windows logo and caps lock. then i close on-screen keyboard, the keyboard is okay, then if shutdown the laptop and open again the keyboard is not functioning again. please help me.
well i found your spec in other post here is what you can do, start the computer and pres F8 many times until you get a black screen with withe letters, select safe mode, windows will load only the basic drivers, all icons will be very big, this is normal, if you keyboard works is a software problem which interfere with you keyboard if not The keyboard is bad, connecting another keyboard will not correct the issue unless you can somehow disconnect the built in keyboard, which I don’t recommend.
Best route is to replace the notebook keyboard, they can be found on eBay for reasonable prices. The original part number should be on a sticker on the bottom of the keyboard when you remove it, this will help when searching for the correct one, as there are many different part numbers for the CQ40 keyboard.
let me know how that works for you

download the iso, burn the iso to a DVD, back up your files, on external drive if possible, boot from DVD, and follow this video https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=A84194DD1881D1E5&id=a84194dd1881d1e5%214122

agreed basically the computer is trying to boot from hard drive when no boot manager is present.
check your steps / options for booting from DVD either in bios or boot menu.
tip. DVD booting will auto install if the HDD is unformatted (no partition/s)
don’t forget to check all cables and connections are fitted and secure and your is working at post.

Fatima/Leo, quick question… can you still purchase an authentic, legit, license from MS? I’m a bit of a Windows enthusiast and Vista is the only version after XP that I don’t currently own. I may have to hunt down a boxed copy, but if I can download this image for installation, then purchase a license, I might consider it.
Thanks.

I have a gateway and the product license is not visible at all although I know it had home premium from the factory. gateway(acer) is useless unless I want to pay them a bunch. What product license will work with this? If no one knows is it an install made for a specific brand so I will know what kind of license I need to look for? Thanks.

My partition has physical damage that installs Windows Vista Home Premium 32/64bit, on my L500 Toshiba Satellite. The reason for the installation of such an old OS is because I have the product key for it, I want to use some old music production software.
I replaced the HDD and on another computer I clicked on the link above to download the 64bit version, to find myself (after installation) with Ultimate instead of Home Premium. I thought I may have clicked on the wrong link so I repeated the download, to find it being Ultimate again!
Does anyone know where I can get an ISO of Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit, or how to overcome the registration of the 64bit Ultimate version of Vista, I downloaded from this site? - #234 written by हिमाश निमसर 4 years ago
